Sire: Vorden Picea
Dam: Kerswell Spirit
Born 25/04/2004 Height 31.5”. Bought as a foal directly from the Kerswell stud, Sprite was a superb addition to our stud, although after licensing we leased him out for a few years while we used several other stallions. He consistently produced small, neat foals, bursting with presence and quality, and always with the most beautiful heads.
It was a hard decision to offer him for sale in 2019, but we are pleased that he is now earning his oats at the Shallochmill stud in Scotland, and we have retained three superb fillies by him here at Tawna.
Sire: Birling Benjamin
Dam: Brandon Filigree
Bought as an outcross for Musketeer's fillies, Jack excelled, giving us some outstanding progeny. His vitality and personality made him a great favourite. He produced 37 foals for us and we retained many of his daughters plus the wonderful stallion Tawna Rubus, all of whom have inherited his magnificent mane! Jack is now at the Gue stud (established in the late 1800s!) in the Shetland Isles. www.guestud.com
Sire: New Park Chieftain
Dam: Kerswell Rosa
We were most fortunate to have had this superb young stallion on lease for two years. His foals were excellent -
Sire: Vorden Picea
Dam: Kerswell Minetta
Siring over fifty foals for us, Musky’s bloodlines complimented those of our mares perfectly. His offspring inherited his substance, quality, free movement, and beautiful head ...12 of his sons became licensed stallions! He was a multi show champion, and an absolute gentleman!
Sire: Fairy Fabric
Dam: Tawna Yum Yum
Kips had to be our all time favourite. Not only handsome, but highly intelligent as well. Visitors always enjoyed his "party tricks". He stayed here all his life -
Sire: Birling Induna
Dam: Tawna Sugarplum
A very gentle and polite stallion. A show champion himself, he was one of FIVE full brothers -
Sire: Ron of North Wells
Dam: Orcop Picolo
This stocky, and very small son of Ron of North Wells passed on his substance and strength. We were most fortunate that he exclusively produced fillies whilst at Tawna!
Sire: Birling Golden Cloud
Dam: Fallacy of Wetherden
Induna's bloodlines worked well with our ponies, giving us the ideal Shetland type. The combination produced a number of very successful stallions who have gone on to make their mark in the Breed.
Sire: Hippominimus Huggy Bear
Dam: Seva Gay Girl
A very attractive little boy, exhibiting all the attributes of a true miniature. His offspring were all classy and small.

Sire: Rubicon
Dam: Fairy Floss
Born in 1969, this spirited little boy had a considerable impact on the Tawna stud. Four of his sons became licensed stallions. These included Tawna Bumble Bee who was used by the Brandon stud for many years, and Tawna Mr Kipling who we used very successfully ourselves.
Tragically Fairy Fabric was killed in a freak accident shortly after being sold for a (then) record price at Reading sale.
Sire: Vorden Picea
Dam: Nutmeg of Glebefarm
Born: 2001 Height 32.5”
This half brother to Kerswell Musketeer was bought as a newly licensed stallion. It was a highly successful and influential choice as he produced fifty three foals at the Tawna stud between 2005-
Nutty has left a wonderful legacy of real quality ponies with his bountiful presence, well set-
A great many of Nutty’s offspring have been highly successful in the show ring.
Sire: Kerswell Musketeer
Dam: Tawna Cornish Cream
Born 2004 Height 33”
A full brother to a number of our best ponies, with our most valued bloodlines, we always knew that Tristan would only have limited use for ourselves as he was related to too many mares!
We therefore leased him for a year to the Ellernbrook stud in Germany and to the South Park (Fairy) stud in Sussex for two years. He produced championship winning stock at both studs, including a filly which was junior champion at the SPS-
Since returning to Tawna we could only use him on a few mares -
Not fulfilling his potential here, we are delighted that he has now returned to the South Park stud to hopefully continue producing outstanding offspring.
Sire: Kerswell Firecracker
Dam: Athelney Caramel
Born 1998 Height 31.5”
We were truly privileged to be given the chance to lease this handsome senior stallion.
We were not specifically looking for another stallion, but the opportunity provided a chance to introduce some slightly different bloodlines, whilst linking back to respected miniatures e.g. Ron of North-
Bertie was another well mannered boy and was a pleasure to have here at Tawna. Registered as dun, he is actually a most attractive buckskin. He gave us three foals -
Bertie has a tiny head and tremendous bone, both of which he seems to pass on to his youngstock, so we are looking forward to seeing how these develop.
Sire: Mardlebrook Dancer
Dam: Kirkstall Ursula
This very handsome young stallion was brought in to the stud to introduce some slightly different bloodlines through two crops of foals, while our young homebred stallions developed. A really magnificent boy, he possessed great presence and type. He was a real pleasure to have here. Achilles then joined Fiery Jack at the Gue stud in Shetland where he continued to produce prize-
